The second pig was a bit more industrious and built his house out of branches. The third pig, however, was very clever and took the time to build his house out of strong, sturdy bricks.
One day, a hungry wolf came along who was thirsty for a meal. He found the first pig's house of straw and asked to come inside. The little pig, of course, said no. The wolf then blew down the house with a single puff of air!
The first pig fled to his brother's house of sticks for protection. The wolf followed, and once again asked to come inside. The two little pigs refused, but the wolf huffed down the house of branches with just a few breaths! The two pigs then ran to their brother's house of bricks.
The wolf, now furious, tried his best to blow down the sturdy house of bricks, but he just couldn't succeed. He attempted and puffed, but the house stood firm.
Finally, the wolf realized that he couldn't blow down the house. {Hescrambled up the stack hoping to surprise the pigs. But the clever third pig had already set a pot of steaming stew at the top of the chimney. The wolf fell into the pot and yelled, then scampered as fast as he could. The three little pigs were safe at last!
They lived happily ever after in their sturdy house of bricks.
